I have been doing computer consulting for 18 months now, and would like to get into IT Audit. I am taking the CISA in JUNE but so far have had no interest from employers in my resume. I have changed my resume multiple times, but obviously have no experience in audit. Everyone wants at least one year of IT audit / controls experience? Yeah right, when no one is willing to give you a chance! I graduated Cum Laude and thought I would have no problem landing that first great job, instead I'm going in a completely different direction and feel trapped. I'm too old to change careers again. Does anyone have any contacts for entry level IT Audit positions or something that would lead to it? |

The Big 4 are over-loaded w/Sarbanes Oxley work (Section 404), so if you get your CISA certification, throw your resume their way and you should be fine. They need all the bodies they can get with all of that 404 work, so I would try the Big 4. If you know anyone there, it will probably move the process of interview/etc. along quicker. Good luck.
