I will graduate in Two months and have been looking for full time jobs for past 3 months but couldn't even get a single interview. I am looking for a entry level position in Materials Science and Engineering.
I would appreciate hearing a advice on career opportunities in the Semiconductor Manufacturing industry for Materials Scientist, on conducting an effective job search, and on how best to uncover job leads.
I would like to know that in a semiconductor manufacturing company like IBM-Microelectronics, Nokia, TI,Applied Materials or any Commercial Testing Laboratories,What is the role of a Materials Scientist(failure analysis of microelectronics). What Skills and talents makes someone successful in this job.
Please advice me on this.

i am job searching for somone who is a senior field service engineer, in the semiconductor industry. last year 33% of the jobs were eliminated in this srea. Dallas, Austin, Portland, Montana, Miami, these are places that have Semiconductor mfg/prod. I would get a mfg.s guide for these cities and see who is there. Also look up Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturers on line, use www.rrrecruitersonline.com to find one that specializes in semiconductor sector. then apply, but also follow up with a phone call. chase every jack rabbit of a lead the one you least expect will pan out. call a semiconductor company and ask them what recruiters they use. there aren't very many recruiters who do semi, so they should be doing all fo them. getit, got it now go after your dream. read stacy mayo, career author, i can't believe i am getting paid to do this.
