Is it possible to be blacklisted by a recruiter/headhunter? The reason I ask is one patricular firm I have dealt with has become very "cold" to me.
It also goes further: I answer ads (albeit via Monster.com - but directly to their e-mail) that they have on the intrenet where the position would be a perfect fit (and I know because as I read the ad I see all the same bullet points on my resume)but not a nibble. I have written them off but I am angry. Should I confront them in a carefully worded letter or drop the matter and just persevere by looking with other recruiters and on my own? Any advice would be appreciated. |

Recruiters are just people who could not find a job - but with a few contacts created a job.
Forget them!
You're just wasting time.
Even if they 'black listed" you - they'll lie about it. Recruiters are posting ads with no jobs. They are just "trolling" - it does not cost you anything. The more you talk to them; the more they are trying to humilate you. This is their fun - seeing people wanting jobs! Its a "power play thing".
SO move on - anything you see with them - just ignore. But let your friends know which firm treated you that way - as a warning. WHo knows - soon maybe they will be "black listed" - its free market place!
Hang in and move on!
