It is about having contacts. It is not about your education, or how smart you are, or how fast you can learn, or the many skills you bring in.
Getting a nice MBA job for $85-100K/yr is all a game. Is about where you went to school, where you did your internship. They don't care about you being smart, hard working, creative, being a fast learner, or about your other skills.
Corporate America will go down if they continue with this hiring mentality. Americans hire people that can show a nice FACADE, Europeans hire people with intelligence and creativity.

Hey Kriman,
I am just trying since november to get a job from anything in finance or consulting industry...and I wouldn't say that europeans hire smart, creative and intelligent people.
I am 25, I graduated with a maximum score cum laude, did experimental thesis, published in the Economic Journal, have TOEFL, DELE and GMAT score (only 5000 people have it in Italy) of top 7% in the world, I have a 18 months brokerage agency part-time experience, make graphic design as a hobby .
I should be considered a top notch graduate candidate....
Add that I am using 5 recruiting agencies across all EU but I cannot get anything.
Europeans do not care about PhD so much, above all in Italy. But, people (who I know personally ) with a lower degree score, from unknown universities and NO EXPERIENCE are hired from McKinsey, Bain or BNP PARIBAS. They do not give a shit about what u are or what u did.
Please reconsider what U said about Europe, and appreciate United States. Europe is a Hell.
