I have been working the past 3 years as a small package courier putting about 2,000 miles weekly on my second car now and working 60 hours weekly. Pays the bills and nice not being stuck in corporate cubicle on nice day, but I feel like I am wasting my degrees and licenses and 20 years experience, despite my daily job search. "We want somebody doing this type of work currently". Recruiters seem to be looking for perfect job description match with your most recent position. Oh well, I will keep praying while driving! |

Your situation is similar to one of my former MBA classmates. He worked as a financial manager at 3M for over 20 years and was downsized. He had been unemployed for approximately 2 years, but he would not take less than $75K. I have also heard stores of accountants taking positions as administrative assistants. I was thinking of going for the online Graduate Financial Management certificate, if I can get my current employer to pay for it. Now, I'm thinking it would be just a waste of money and time. Thanks for the info.
