In Reply To: I said I DID see the job posting on the Microsoft Careers site. Actually, I set up a couple of "Job Agents" on the MS site with my search criteria, and they send me notifications when a job matching my criteria is posted on the site, along with a link to the posting. I was GIVING advice to the person who posted saying they had contracts negotiation experience, which has NOTHING to do with a CONTRACT (temporary) position. Contracts negotiation is a job done by the internal MS legal group, a full time "blue badge" job. I did not suggest that they get information out of anyone at Microsoft. I suggested that, IF they had a contact there, to ask that contact to submit their resume to the hiring manager directly. You would be the last person anyone should ask for help, since you pay little attention to the information provided to you.
Message: You say "Contracts negotiation is a job done by the internal MS legal group, a full time "blue badge" job." MS hires armies of lawyers. But they do not (to my knowledge and EXPERIENCE) get involved on contract negotiation. It's up to the biz or often program manager to negotiate the terms and conditions on the agreements. MS LCA (lingo for MS legal group) merely reviews the contract negotiated by PM and that's it. On more ordinary agreements, it's only reviewed by LCA admin. You know what they say: ask nicely and sincerely and someone may help but your rather unpleasant attitide won't get you there. Try to be nicer, OK?
