In Reply To: HI. I am from the UK and am looking to obtain a job in the USA. I need to find an organisation that will sponsor me for a H1B visa. I have contacted various recruitment agencies requesting advise & whether the companies they represent would undertake this visa process. I have met with a dead end. Can anyone advise how I can find out which companies sponsor international candidates. Or can anyone provide any contacts? I am a qualified accountant (ACMA), hold a BA (Hons) in Accounting and am on the home stretch of my masters. Thanks Sarah
Message: Many companies state that they will not sponsor H1Bs. It's too much trouble to prove that company could not hire local talent... There are exceptions on specialized positions. And those who sponsor H1Bs are more apt to give your poor pay and treament as you have little option in finding other jobs and you're at their mercy for sponsoring green card so stuck there. During tough times, H1B are more likely laid off. This happened in Silicone Valley in CA as easier to jettison H1B holders vs. local people. Many had to resort to drivig taxis and other menial job but once the sponsorship is gone then you're "illegal" alien. Add to that anti-H1B due to soft job market. So consider carefully and realize your H1B may treat you like 2ns class citizen or indentured (nice word for "slave" labor) servant.
