In Reply To: It is all about who you know, what type of clout they have, and the message is don't go to a university...go to THE university; one known for academic excellence, high quality internships, a career development office with job market acumen, and a lot of luck. I ran a successful IT business for 3 years, was a top compliance auditor for 3 years for a global 100 company, and just finished my B.A. in economics with a 3.9, college entrance exam in 95th percentile, and GMAT in 96th percentile... but i can't land an interview to save my life. I am extremely creative, and hardworking, and i have a high level aptitude; but i just can't figure this conundrum out! Let me know if anyone else does and with great empathy and sincerity, GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
Message: Hello all qualified candidates! I can relate to your problems and agree with your observations. However, even a top school MBA does not make the process a breeze! I have one and speak three foreign languages, but the flow of interviews is VERY SLOW. The reality is such that we compete with many candidates for a small pool of well paid jobs. People tell me "with your credentials, you should have no problem" but it is a myth. Keep plugging along...
