For the self employment part, what's a safe job title to use on the resume that is "corporate friendly"? I've heard many corporate employers don't like to see BS titles like owner, CEO and such especially for below management level jobs. They want to make sure they are hiring people who can take orders. Thanks! |

This is a great question. What sets me apart is that my small business ownership for 4 years was a professional pet styling salon! But I'm actually an operations analyst or a technical trainer. Sounds really incongruous to me... but I thought my future was secure enough to sustain the early years of the business and then a very shocking divorce/ending of role as mother to two special needs adopted kids hit me smack between the eyeballs!
