In Reply To: Recommend: Conservative black or real dark blue wool or wool blend tailored suit with cuffs (freshly pressed - spot press with home iron. No 3 piece, no double breasted), black socks, conservative polished black shoes (keep an eye on the back of the shoes and heels), white starched shirt pressed by laundry on hanger (no French cuffs, no button downs), dark color tie with a conservative pattern, non- extreme haircut, clean-shaven (back of neck, no shaved heads, trim eyebrows, no beards or mustache), clean hands and finger nails filed. No excessive jewelry (rings, bracelets or wild watches, no piercing. Use a clear face and hand lotion. Contact lenses rather than eyeglasses if possible, freshly brushed white bleached teeth, mints to keep breath fresh. Very little or no after shaves, etc. Enough sleep so eyes are not red or have bags. Do not drink alcohol or eat pungent foods within 1 day of interview (garlic, etc) as the smell can come through your skin or from your stomach.
Message: Is there any reason for contact over glasses? I have never heard this one before. I wear glasses and would like to hear what people have against glasses in an interview setting. I don't choose glasses over contacts for any particular reason, but after 20 years, I don't plan on switching to contacts anytime soon. Up until now, I've figured "If it ain't broke, why fix it." But from your posting, you seem to think eyeglasses are "broke."
