I have been working for 5 years, 2 in Public Acctg, and 3 for an entertainment company. I am thinking about making a career change and becoming a recruiter. I don't want to feel like my education and experience are going down the drain. Can anybody give me advice on the recruiting industry? Temp vs Perm? |

In ten minutes, I could easily compile a list of 100,000 recruiters names, numbers, addresses, phone numbers, ....
You'd be much better off contacting one directly. (www.dice.com, www.monster.com, www.onemillionrecruiters.com)
Recruiters are sales people. Sales people prospect. You need to prospect recruiters for information about recruiting.
Here's a good first line, (oldy-but-a-goody): "I'm wondering if you can help me, I am currently an accountant with X Years, and Y Credentials, while I've managed to gain excellent experience in the field, I'm not quite satisified with the accounting and am strongly considering recruiting as a career. I've interacted with many recruiters, and I've learned that I am particularly qualified for the job .... Would you mind answering a few questions about the industry? If not now, perhaps at a more convenient time....?"
REPEAT OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER until you have contacts and the information you need ...
