Does your area have a local American Marketing Association group that is active? I have just decided to seriously trying marketing research, too (9 years of IT consulting background at a Big 4). The AMA group in my area seems to be active and probably a good way to meet others in the field. Also, do any of the local universities have any continuing education classes you can take? |

Yes there is an AMA chapter in my area which I just came across. I haven't had much of a chance to look into it but will definitely sign up. I do agree with you that is a great way to meet others in the field of marketing.
I've just recently been accepted into an MBA prep program so for the next year so I doubt that I will have the chance to take a continuing education class but it is another great idea that I will look into.
Thanks for your advice. These are just the things that I am looking for. Are you looking into any particular sort of market research? I'm looking to focus on the Asian markets.
