I was unemployed for about 10 months by choice recently. When I decided to return to corporate, it took me only 3 weeks to secure an offer after weighing 2 others. In light of the current economic climate, employers are more sympathetic towards employment gaps of 6-18 months. I don't think the reason you gave so far is reflecting well on yourself because the employer can proceed to ask why you or your company think that you are not a good fit. This is the time for a white lie. Say you want to explore a new career (if u r switching), looking for a more challenging job, seeking a position closer to your career objectives i.e. the position you are interviewing for. I had a legitimate reason when asked for why I left the company so I didn't have any problem. |

I too left my job by choice due to the unprofessionalism of my collegues. My life meant much more to me than to be in that environment. But now reading these postings... is that an acceptable interview answer?
