You only graduated from college as recent as May '04, and you can't find work?? Really there is nothing to complain about unless you are filing for welfare assistance or cannot pay your bills.
Seriously, I graduated with my MBA well over 3 years ago and still, all I can find is temporary work. I cannot pay my bills. I have not landed a permanent job yet. Plenty of interviews, but no job. Now that's something to complain about!!
You're still young out of undergrad. You've got a long way to go. Employers will look at your resume for the next couple years even if you are unemployed!
Just network and keep looking for contract work! |

I hear what you are saying. I got my MA in International Commerce & Policy (similar to an MBA but, with an int'l twist) 3 years ago. About 6 mo. after receiving my MA, I was introduced to some managers at USDA who said that if I went through the co-op program I would be working there right away verses the 6 mo+ waiting time for gov't jobs. I followed their advice, worked in 2 different depts as a co-op and was hired on. unfortunately, it was I fell under the probational period, and was let go. Since then, I have been applying for numerous jobs, updating my reseume with "expert" assistance, using networking services such as Linked-In and BPW (Business Professional Women's Network) with little success. I got a few good contacts through Linked in but, in other regions. I can't remember the last time I had a real interview. I too have been temping since Sept '03. Occasionally the agency will set me up on an interview but, usually I am overqualified. If I apply to positions on my own , I am told that the same thing, or that I don't have enough experience.
Thankfully, my husband's job is going well but, still I want to work in a job that will challenge me not, just going through the motions as is what happens with these administrative temp positions.
