In Reply To: I made it through a 3rd interview round in DC, now that I think of it I forgot the thank you note-oops-but now I'm learning and have about 4 interviews lined up. Be patient, learn from mistakes, if they don't give you the descency to call you then the company is not one you want to work for. Always ask for feedback to improve for the next one. I need advice. Looking to relocate to NYC can anyone help? I'm in DC and if I can find something that meets my match here, well by all means-fashion, PR, writing, entertainment -tv. I speak 3 languages, should be useful.
Message: Emailing them did good because they decided they had a better position for me and I have a second interview next week. I've found that being patient doesn't always work. I'm more of a "go out and get them" type of person so I can't just sit around waiting. Interviewing isn't a problem. I think I just wont settle for any job and want a job that will take me somewhere. I also speak 3 languages and have found that most people in the international relations, non-profit, diplomacy and political arena of DC speak various languages so its not necessarily a step above the rest. Same with having a degree. If you are lookin to get into the fashion , PR, entertainment industry, you better get out of DC and go to NYC sooner than later. Alot of people I know from college moved to NYC for those same interests and are struggling. They've found jobs but are being over worked for little pay or have to take unpaid Internships at fashion houses to get their foot in the door. NYC is just as severly competitive as DC just in a different sector. DC is more political and NYC is more fashion, PR, entertainment. If you want to relocate, start looking for something now before you get there.
