I had a Check bounce in 1998 and ended up having to deal with it in court for $23.00. Now I have a "Theft by Check" on my record and I believe it has greatly hindered my opportunities. I am getting an Order of Non-Disclosure which will eliminate it from public records but it takes some time. How should I approach this in interviews? I have kept it from applications (which typically only ask for felonies), and I will completely feel like I have the job until they send me a packet with a copy of the record in it. This has happen 3 times. Am I wasting my time looking for a job until it clears from my record? Do most companies deny employment for Misdemeaners? Any advice?
