Thank you for the replies so far. Eventhough I did graduate recently, of course I'm going to stress out about not having a job! I have student loans and rent and other bills to pay! (I agree, Sallie Mae will have to wait). My degree is in International Relations, I have experience in various sectors so my resume is actually pretty good for just coming out of undergrad. And believe me I exhausted my schools career services. It was like I worked there. I've contacted alumni and most just blow me off (my friends have experienced this as well) or have given the same suggestions... I'm now living in DC so the competition is severe. So now it seems that I should just stick to the Temp agency work and network as everyone says no matter how frustrating. I do want to go back for grad school but I was hoping to get my small undergrad loan out of the way before piling on more loans. And despite what people say, you can't help stressing out about being unemployed! its not to the point of welfare but it is still stressful! |

I know you probably don't want to think about graduate school, but maybe this would be a perfect time. The economy is bound to improve, and when it does, you will be set to take any job of your choosing. Well, maybe not any job, but nonetheless you will be in a great spot to land a job.
Just a thought.
