I knew some girl in college who graduated when I did with a degree in Math. And she landed a pretty nice job with a bank in North Carolina. Im sure she didnt have a finance or business double major with it, although maybe she had a minor. I have heard from others, like people in my career center, that there are analyst jobs out there for people with Math degrees, but I just do not know what those jobs are. And maybe you need some business experience if not a degree to get those like you said. Can you think of any analyst positions that a Math degree can get you? thanks. |

...you need to get serious man.
contact your career center at vanderbilt. go to the library and browse their career section.
a math degree is very versitile, but you must start carving out a career path. a math degree is useful in virtually every job. With a math degree, completing the necessary credits for a finance degree would be a cakewalk.
you certainly DO NOT need a finance degree to work for an insurance company. Get an associates in Actuarial science.
find the very best company to work for, doing whatever they ask you to.... you need an IN,
once in, you can manuever... if you get serious.
find out what you are interested in, get another degree related to it.
traditional job titles are becoming more and more meaningless
companies want you to fix their problems and improve their processes.
