In Reply To: Company A may "give you a better offer", but that could be followed up by giving you the business. Remember, now they know you are looking elsewhere. They may be simply giving you a better offer to keep you around long enough to get their ducks in a row, find your replacement, and dump your ass. It's dog-eat-dog out there now, and you cannot trust anyone. There's a line of poor schmucks out there waiting to do your job, and do it for less pay. Your employer knows that too. If I were you, I'd go work for company B.
Message: one of things you can do research companies online. I type in company name on Vault.com search engine and it pulls up workplace survey, salary survey and all sorts of things related to it. People who worked at these companies writes what is really like working here. Also no shame in rejecting company's offer after you signed on the papers. Cause one thing, companies also write in their disclaimer type of things....they have right to fire or let you go w/o any reason, if things aren't working out(I know my company has something like that). So do some research and make decision that ulitmately good for you.
