Just a generic post to those out there... I'm looking for an econ heavy entry level research position, any ideas? I'm not looking for finance, and not equity research either. I'm looking for anything from financial economics to polical economics and everything in between. I'm open.

i would look for a Government Sponsored Enterprise or any other large company in the Mortgage Backed Securities sector (Jr. Economist position). deals with legislation on the hill (do a quick search on capital adequacy for GSEs), the obvious econ indicators such as non-farm payrolls, FOMC monetary policy, inflation, consumer price index, and all others related to fixed income instruments. the downside is you have to move to the DC area to work for a GSE (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac). Ginnie Mae, Sallie Mae are also in the area.
