How long do you want to stay? |

I think you have to look realistically at how long you would stay at Beta. The difference between taking a job that you don't like and quitting after a year and spending 6 mos at a position that you like that is inherently short term is great interview fodder. Recruiters know that the economy is hard and would respect the fact that you did not take a job that you didn't want rather than jump around. You've got to spin it right, though.
One other thing to think about. Not to get you jaded, but I spent a lot of time in temp work and was made a lot of promises. Don't bet on Alpha even if you're complimented on your work and offered interviews and assistance, sometimes they do this just so they can overwork you right up to the 180th day. Until you're actually hired, continue your search and let them know that you are looking.
