Hi:
It's been a while since I have interviewed. I wanted to find out how to obtain references for potential employers. I know in the past, you are to come to an interview with a list of 3 references. Although I want to include my current manager as a reference, I feel as though once I ask my manager for a reference, he may start to look negatively towards me since I am looking elsewhere for a job. Also, if I dont get the job, then I feel like my relationship with my manager would be ruined. What should I do? How should I approach people about references without causing a bad feeling on either side? Also, I am not sure if my company has a policy concerning employees used as reference. They may just have an HR representative disclose just the date of hire and salary. If this is the case, then I feel as though I wont have any references to disclose...???
