In Reply To: If you want that job. Call call call. Persistance is going to win you this one. If you won't call, somebody else will and will get your spot. I just turned down an offer and executive director of that organizatio (to nudge me to accept the offer) showed me about 50 resumes that got for that very poorely advertised position that had very strict requirement. That is 50 people who were almost or even more qualified than me (I did read several of those resumes). Imagine what it is like when requirement are smaller!!! I WISH YOU BEST OF LUCK. We all need it!
Message: I 'phoned the gentleman to whom I'd sent my resume last month; he was out of the office, so I spoke with a colleague. Part of the reason for my call, in addition to follow-up, was to determine the likelihood of an interview coming up, for which I'd need vacation time, and whether I'd therefore be wise to go to a regional trade show which would also eat into vacation. (If you're fortunate enough to be working during your job search, you know what a pain in the @$$ the juggling act can be!) As it turned out, the company was participating at the show, so... I took the day off and had a chance to show my face with the principal and a colleague! Very briefly, but I hope for the better. And, I made other contacts and gained some valuable knowledge at the show, too!
