Thanks for the insight. I'll take all that into consideration.
However like I said, I will be staying for another year. It's at the end of this 2nd year on the job when I'll be out, since I do not want the promotion.
My questions about unemployment benefits still remain unanswered, so if anyone can answer I'll appreciate it.
1. If my employer and I both agree that I don't belong anymore, is it in my best interests to just resign, or is it okay to have them lay me off so I can collect unemployement (I really want to get that free money and just hang out for a couple months).
2. If I were to get hired for another job and I tell them I'll start 2 months after I end my current one, can I collect unemployment during that hiatus? |

....don't want to insult you, but you got a lot to learn about the real world. "Free money" don't ever have that kind of remark or conversation in your network. It shows you as somebody who is not mature, realistic, or experienced.
C'mon, you think this is labor market of 2000. I am yet to find ONE person who had less than 8 months of job search.
But go ahead, sometimes you have to get burned to learn...
Some people like playing Russian rulette with their career, I gues you are one of them.
