I'm looking ahead one year to when I leave my Big 4 accounting job (I'm now starting my 2nd year). At the end of 2 years, we are expected either to take the promotion to Senior Auditor or leave. I don't want the job, and I'd like to collect unemployment, so I'm thinking maybe I won't resign and I'll force them to lay me off.
Would this be likely to hurt my future job search in any way?
Also, if I were to get hired for another job and tell them I am available to start 2 months after I end my current one, would I be able to collect unemployment during that period, even though I have a job lined up?
