What's the best way to sugar coat your unemployement status during an interview and keep it sounding positive instead of negative? You know there's always a negative perception to the employer when someone is unemployed and has been looking for work for sometime. |

If you were fired or layed off through no fault of your own, then just tell the truth. There's so many people who are unemployed for extended periods of time these days, it is no longer disgraceful and most employers are understanding. Just keep the reason brief and to the point when you are asked.
Now on the other hand, if you got fired for being late, absent, screwing off, or breaking the law, then you are really going to have to think about what you are going to tell them.
