I sure hope that you raised hell with the company that said you had to fill out an employment application in order for them to cut you an expense check. I'd bitch to HR and to everyone you dealt with at the company. That is utterly idiotic. What do they do when they need to reimburse vendors, make them also fill out an employment application?!? |

This isn't a rinky-dink little company... it's a major global corporation with about 50,000 employees! They're jerking me around over about $400! When you see stuff like this, it really makes you feel like you were fortunate not to get hired by them.
Another company I interview with a few months ago postponed my interview by about three weeks so they could save a few hundred dollars on airfare. When I got there, I found out that the company has had a history of teetering on the edge of financial ruin. I didn't get the job because I didn't feel it was a good idea to relocate my family over 1000 miles for a significant pay cut with no relocation package. It took me over a month to get reimbursed for my expenses! What really made it scary was that I had to pay for my hotel, rental car, and meals on my own credit card.
