I'm in the process of looking for a job and I'm not having much luck. One of the most annoying things I encounter are recruiters who don't bother to take down online job postings after the position has been filled. I can't tell you how many times I send in an application only to be told that there no longer is an opening. Worse still, many companies continue to leave the job postings up. Don't they realize that they are needlessly wasting job seekers' time? There are some real jerks out there... If anyone that reads this is in HR or a hiring manager, please have the common decency to take down job ads once the position has been filled; it's just the right thing to do. |

How about applying for a job, spending over a month going through two telephone interviews and three face-to-face interviews, having your references checked, and then receiving word that they "decided to fill the position with an internal candidate"?
The latest indignity was when I was told by another company that I won't be reimbursed for my interview expenses until I fill out an employement application form....even though I was turned down for the job!!!
