I read this story you are debating. I see nothign wrong with it.
He says "SAMPLE" and example! He isn't saying it is true
only giving an example. Even you are saying this data is a
sample. I don't have time to check the data, but I've read
countless times in the Fort Worth Star Telegram that people
are questioning this data. Why aren't you questioning it?
Isn't it just remotely possible you are wrong too????
If he is wrong, big deal. You guys want to just ban every
website that has something incorrect? WOW that would
end the internet.
Did you read this story?

Maybe the Associated Press has it wrong too!
This economy is thick as fog and full of lies.

The way the BLS collects data is by sampling the population. He is using an example that has nothing to do with this and saying that it is how the BLS collects the data. This is a direct quote from his website: "those who fail to find a job after 26 weeks fall off BLS statistics"." This statement is not true. It has nothing to do with politics, if you think the BLS is full of shit, or if you think the economy is horrible right now. The statement simply is not true and it is the basis for the first few paragraphs in his article about how unemployment can seem lower then it is.
This also gets back to comparing the US/EU unemployment levels since they do the same exact thing as the US... This means the title is wrong and so is the chart to the right of the text.
Also, the LAT's uses nothing more then the BLS numbers to calculate what they feel unemployment is therefore claiming that it is at a 20 year high is wrong since the data that the LATs is using shows otherwise.
If he wanted to talk about how he feels that the surveys the government uses is flawed that might be a good discussion to have and if he actually did research on the subject and found something out I'd be interested to hear it. This isn??t what he did though... He thought the government and the LATs did certain things and he was wrong (you can read how they really do things in the numerous links I posted throughout this thread). This is especially bad since the true information about how the BLS obtains the unemployment rate is on their website (this shows me he did no real research). And after finding out he was wrong instead of admitting it and making corrections he repeats how he stands by his "article" when it has been shown to be wrong. Sorry but this is why I don??t trust his site (and most internet blogs) for information about things that I don't know about firsthand until I??ve been reading them along time and they admit when they??re wrong (because no one gets every story right)??
