here is a good link on the USDA tracking plans
www.cio.com/archive/030104/tl_inventory.html
and from this link: (www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5403422/)
"...Last month, the USDA initiated a national testing program
to check for mad cow disease in about 200,000 or more
animals it considers high-risk. It will cover just a fraction
of the 37 million U.S. cows slaughtered annually, though
officials have expressed confidence in their "targeted"
approach..."
doesn't set well with my digestive system...even if
the check was against 1,000,000 that is only 1
in 37.
(john: Assuming we make every college report... )
this is all about tracking and numbers. what it sounds
like to me is, we agree not everyone is counted... you
are saying it is impossible; i'm saying there are better
ways in which to do this, and "impossible" is not an
answer. if BLS wants to hire me to figure out the best
way to count, i'd consider the job. i'm not going to
work for (them) free of charge.
