In Reply To: Hi! I moved to LA with an internship program through UNC and am currently looking for a job. I can tell you the market is tough but having the gumption to move to a new place combined with the glory of a UNC degree is very attractive to a lot of employers. I have gotten many offers just off of that, but I'm being extremely specific about the job I take (I was lucky enough to find a temporary job to pay the bills until I can find the career I want/need). So my advice is: decide whether you want to move and whether you are going to request relocation compensation. Most companies will gladly hire someone as long as they do not have to pay for them to move--good luck!
Message: BTW, I have found working for a temp agency (or several) is a great way to test out careers--you can also tell them you are looking for a permanent job AND it gives you tons of experience with different programs. Granted, it is menial work but hey, it can pay the bills while you are searching for a career!
