In Reply To: You might consider Rockville area of Maryland. Things are hopping up there with healthcare, biotech and IT work (NIH, Dept. Of Health and Human Services, FDA, NIMH, etc). Five miles from there you have Bethesda, which is a haven for several Gov't agencies. There's also a lot of work in Fairfax and Loudoun counties of Northern VA (both private and public service) in just about every field you can think of. Beltway bandits abound here: SAIC, Northrop Grumman, Booz Allen, CSC, Lockheed - you name it, they're all here with positions in State Dept., Intelligence, Military, Federal work, InfoSec work, etc. There's also plenty of private employers here - United Airlines, AOL, MCI, Nextel, KPMG, Accenture and dozens of others with job fairs every day. Many people turn up their nose at Gov't work, but it's a good place to be right now for stability. Downside is the cost of living is also high around DC/VA/MD and traffic sux, but people are doing well here despite the economic shape we're in right now. And that isn't going to change soon. -- Good Luck
Message: Charlotte is one of three major cities for banking and finance related jobs. NYC being first and Chicago being the second. Charlotte has Bank of America, Wachovia(headquaters), Accenture...this is just to name few. Here is the chamber of commerce site for charlotte... http://www.charlottechamber.com Good luck!
