In Reply To: I need some advice from anyone that is familiar with the finance industry in San Diego. I graduated over a year ago with a 3.5 with double degree in economics and finance. I had 2 internships, was in Beta Gamm Sigma (business frat) I am overall a pretty hard worker. For the past 13 months I have held a position for an oil and gas industry in Denver. I work in what is called allocations. Basically I work with trading and marketing with regards to how much gas is being pulled, placing measure to ensure customers pulling ratably etc. There are not many opportunities in my company in financial analysis, which is the area I want to go into. Instead there is mostly admin positions. No thanks for me! I am looking to move to San Diego, but have heard so many mixed things about the finance industry there. . . I have heard anything from it being one of the strongest in the country to it being entirely dismal and hopeless. It is especially difficult since I live out of state. I have two questions to ask 1. how great given my background is my chance of finding a job in SD if I still live here? 2. how great is my chance of finding a job in SD if I take the risk to move out and do temp work while looking? any advice is much appreciated and needed. Thanks!
Message: With your background I think you can try Sempra in SD... There are a couple of small shops but not too many places in SD which is unfortunate
