This is a weird question...
My current job at a hedge fund-of-funds has allowed me to make personal contacts with about a hundred quality hedge funds.
I'd like to use those contacts to help find a low-level research position at one of the hedge funds, but I'm not sure what constitutes proper contact.
How far can I go in using my current position to help me look for a new job? I mean, I don't want these managers turning around and telling other people at my company that I've sent in a resume. That might be awkward.
Any pointers on looking for a new job in the same industry?
