In Reply To: From my point of view, I am qualified for the positions in which I have applied as I have performed similar work in the past. Yes, I realize they get a whole bunch. I don't think I want to know how many they are receiving - depressed enough as it is . . . But thank you for the advice.
Message: Not sure what "performed similar work in the past means" exactly, but if you ARE qualified and you aren't getting calls, it means: 1.) You have failed to persuade them that they should contact you. 2.) You aren't offering them any thing they can't get locally. THEY may not believe that you are sufficiently qualified. Also possible that they're skeptical of someone who would want to make a lateral move. Hard to say what the real deal is. Except for the obvious: you haven't marketed yourself effectively. Location wouldn't be relevant if they really wanted you.
