I work in internal consulting for a Major telecommunication company in the south west. I have been working as their Process Manager in their internal strategy department. I am 18 months out of busines school (MBA from top 12 school) and have a masters in computer Engineering. I am bored out of my wits with my current job as my skill sets are not being used to their best ability and the work is not too fast paced. Prior to this I worked for 1.5 years in Venture capital raising in excess of $17M for my clients (This was a VC advisory department) and followed that up working as an independent consultant helping startups raise money. I was really successful there till the market for those kinds of services fell out and I am stuck in what I feel is a deadend job in terms of using my core skills. I would really appreciate it if you could advice me on what is open to someone with my experience. I have tried all the routes but I have not generated a single offer for the past 6 months. I am on a H1B and after the first couple of interviews when it is time to talk about offers the employers get discouraged when they ask me about my work and visa status.
