Hi,
I would like to encourage everyone to look and follow up harder. What helped me was to pick up the phone contact old friends/collegues/potential employers and ask more insighful questions at interviews and offer solutions.
I had an interview this Mon and was offered a job 2 days later. It was a good fit for both parties. This is a global personal care company. This was super fast and due to the fact that VP at this company knew one of my supplier and old colleague - quick reference check. I was also lucky to have an offer last week which I declined as I didn't want to work for very small company.
I have interview with 3 hiring managers and their reports next Mon (meeting 35 peoples in panel interviews in 1 day). This position is out of state for very large biotech/pharmaceutical company. I am interested in this sector. As such, they take about 4 weeks to hire if there is an interest.
My dilemma is that I was honest enough to mention my interview next Mon and the company who offered me a job is demanding that I decide within 7 days of offer or next Wed. Trouble is that the company many not be able to decide in 2 days. So what should I do if interview goes well next Mon? I spoke to 3 hiring managers already by phone and interest is very high from 2 hiring managers.
Thanks |

This is a long message but I think you are asking whether you should accept Job 1 before Job 2, which may be better. There is some old wisdom. A "bird in the hand is better than two birds in a bush." Take Job 1 and keep interviewing for Job 2. If you get Job 2 as well, resign from Job 1. I've seen people do this, if you don't mind burning the bridge at Job 1.
