I was just let go of my job last Friday. Since I had already seen the writing on the wall, I began searching for a new job since last fall. I began interviewing with a company in December, had a face to face interview last week and was given an offer today.
I am not sure how to handle my situtation. Should I be upfront with the employer and when accepting the job tell them that I lost my last job between the time of the interview and the offer - or should I just be quiet? |

I don't see why you would bother telling them -- you got the offer so take it. Why would you feel you were doing something wrong if you didn't tell them? You are not lying, or misleading them. Seems to me like you've got really great timing and a little luck to get a job so quickly. Are you worried they would call to check your employment? Maybe that could be a problem, but why would they if they already made an offer?
That said, if you did tell them, do you think it would be an issue? Most employers understand layoffs, especially in this market -- so I would think you could explain it anyway.
Good luck.
