In Reply To: I have had several jobs over the past few years. It started off by getting laid off back in 2001, which then resulted in all of 2002 job jumping and scraping to get by. At the beginning of 2003 I landed a job in a bank branch. Needless to say my manager was brutally difficult to deal with and over my 8 months on the job she fired 3 people and continually "wrote up" for discipline action countless others. She was brutal to work for and after one day of her giving me a hard time I went to HR and word got back to her and I was terminated. I went through company procedure to get my job back, but to no avail and have also put in complaints with state and federal groups. Anyway, how do i explain to an employer the reason I left my last job? That's a big problem. Thanks
Message: I went through the same situation. Laid off, then part-time odd jobs and then Terminated. Never blame your prior employers. Remember that you can turn a negative into a positive. You might say something to this effect, "I really enjoyed the opportunity I received while working for.....and my experience will provide your company with the person you are looking for?" Be honest but not condescending. If an employer can read your actions they will decide wether you fit their company or not. Thanks.
