In Reply To: Thanks for the feedback. I hope we hear more from others in the same boat. The job hopper post is very similar to the one I started, except that it wasn't my decision to leave. (Although I did hop quite a bit in the go go years, until I found a job that paid $75K. I don't understand how people can blame me for getting the money I can. I thought this was a capitalist nation, but maybe that's only for employers.) I was in an interview the other day, and the HR lady (about 60 years old) was looking very negatively at me because I've had several jobs over the past years. Other people have looked at my resume and asked me what do I want to do when I grow up? These people have usually been in their industry/jobs for several years and do not understand how the new economy works. Unfortunately, until it happens to them, they will not be very forgiving. I'm trying to put a positive spin on my resume and why I've left, but I'd really like to know how I can respond to this question in a job interview.
Message: I understand your comments and feelings. I surely have been there. In an interview, I stress my strengths. I stress what I brought and gained from each position and how I have grown in my career with every move up. I stress what I can give them in my abilities and skills and how it would be a good match for both the company and myself.
