nothing ever came of it, despite my persistence. the conclusion i arrived at was the women was some sort of sadist. i had an interview, it went ok, i was VERY interested and qualified for the job, i followed-up ... waited .. no return ... i followed-up ... waited ... no return ... my last follow-up i instructed her to act like a deceny human being, and simple explain to candidates "we've gone a different direction" |

I"ve also had similar experiences. HR is usually your best friend if they're interested in you, but you can't reach them at all if they're not. As far as recruiters stringing you along and wasting your time, think about it this way -- if that's how they are treating you as a prospective employee, do you really want to work for that firm anyway? A similar situation happened to me, where I thought I was dinged, but it turns out that the company just had a problem approving the budget for the position. However, my interview went well, but they never told me anything until I called to find out what happened. That wasn't the only instance with this company. Suffice it to say, despite the fact that they are hiring for some great positions, I would never accept an offer there for a number of reasons, but one of them would include the fact that HR just didn't seem to respect the candidates enough to inform them of the situation. Aside from that, the group I would have been hired into is completely new and completely unorganized.
