In Reply To: Job grade determines everything. When you say titles are being phased out, this is semi-true. Many LOB's are going with functional titles rather than the standard associate / vp / md. That is, you'll be called a Credit Specialist or something like that. There has also been reshifting of people among job grade since the B1 merger. With two systems of titles, they had to do away with some distinctions. Some people were actually demoted as a result. Regarding benefits -- the biggest is incentive comp. You must be an officer to receive it. High level employees may receive some incentive comp in the form of stock options, etc.. but lower level officers get simple cash. Also, the higher your officer grade, most likely the higher you salary -- and, as a result, the more you must pay for health care, etc.
