Not sure what your point is.
My understanding is that one can get an extremely small apartment for about US$3,000 per month on the "Island".
If you want to live in MidLevels in a half decent place (and can't get into Govt employee housing), then you're probably talking US$9 to $10 per month.
This is based on what I was told by someone in HK about 4 years ago. I can't believe rents have gone down.
