I'm trying to break into IM in San Francisco. Pretty tough. Interviewed at BGI for two quant assistant roles, made it to third round, then came up short. Also interviewed at Fisher Investments, but they have almost no research besides Ken, and the culture is anti-MBA and CFA for the most part. Other than that, I've done A LOT of networking with buy-side and sell-side here, but nothing yet. I'm hoping for an internship with a buy-side shop but still waiting until it gets approved. I've heard that everyone will be in a holding pattern on full-time hiring until the new year. :(

employment sit is very gay here as well. even for ops (!!!) they insist on 3 months experience or sth like that. Im giving up, and i will just start get a PA track record, then call F&F up.
