I must add that I am not in the business as of yet, and am continuing to look for ways to get into Asset Managemnt. I also am interested in other areas of finance such as credit analysis(to get my fet wet so to speak) and also areas of international finance as well. Any tidbits of wisdom, or advice would be greatly appreciated either here or at str8playin@hotmail.com

I'm trying to break into IM in San Francisco. Pretty tough. Interviewed at BGI for two quant assistant roles, made it to third round, then came up short. Also interviewed at Fisher Investments, but they have almost no research besides Ken, and the culture is anti-MBA and CFA for the most part. Other than that, I've done A LOT of networking with buy-side and sell-side here, but nothing yet. I'm hoping for an internship with a buy-side shop but still waiting until it gets approved. I've heard that everyone will be in a holding pattern on full-time hiring until the new year. :(
