have spoken with many research analysts and associates at various IM institutions, and it seems that the majority of those in the business use simplistic valuation and earnings models. Most use various PE models, and a couple use DCF models. I haven't heard of anyone using economic profit models or NOPLAT models. Any associates or analysts out there care to share the types of models they have used or discuss anything else related to modeling? Thanks!
