I just completed my second year as an analyst at BCG and am interested in hedge fund investing.
I have an opportunity with a small cap long/short equity fund in Omaha (not berkshire related). Has about $75 mill under management with $50 mill more to come next year, and another $50 the next. Been around for 4 years.
Following Qs:
1) If I work for a year, am I attractive to other larger, more reputable funds?
2) Is small cap equity long short a good place to start?
3) Is quality of experience more important than brand name? How would I prove it?
4) After 2-3 years, is it conceivable to raise capital to run your own fund?
5) Is it worth it just to break into the industry? |
