Hi,
I'm trying to get into equity research, but wondering if I've got the right skillset:
- accounting qualification
- registered for CFA level 2
- spent 2 years doing due diligence work, focusing on business/strategy
Ideally I'd like to move soon, but since the market in London is pretty bad - what skillset(s), if any, should I look to pick up? |

Equity Research is one of the hardest things to get into. Being in CA is not the ideal place for Research Analyst...unless of course you are near silicon valley. New York is the place to be...and Boston is where I am with Fidelity.
Good luck to you...get on the phones and it wouldn't hurt to do a little research on a few companies yourself. Anything to put yourself ahead of the competition.
