I graduated from college (consistently in US News' Top 5 among liberal arts colleges) two years ago with no idea what I wanted to do with my life.
About a year later, I decided I wanted to put my econ degree to work, and I got a job at a horrible valuation firm.
I quit the firm in January, but I am still interested in investment management. I just passed the CFA Level I, I have a lot to offer in terms of computer skills, education, and experience (short, but what I have is very good).
I now live in Chicago--what can I do to get a job? It seems like all the jobs I want are only offered to college kids who know what they want before they are seniors. I was too busy enjoying that last year to think about it, but now I regret it. Is it too late for me to get a good job in IM? Or does the economy just suck, and if times were different I wouldn't feel so discouraged?
Thanks,
DL
