Passing level one could lead to you getting considered for a job you wouldn't have been considered for otherwise. I passed L1 before I had any applicable experience and used that achievement to get hired for an analyst position now have almost three years experience. I find it highly unlikely that if you intend to pass the CFA program you won't at some time find the ability to get a job in the industry. Just keep trying. |

I have no experience in analyzing stocks, but have one year's experience as a mutual fund analyst. I have recently passed level I of the CFA and was wondering if that opens up the door to a job as an equity analyst (on a mutual fund or elsewhere).
Thanks
